Cairnhill Nursing Home Bray
Cairnhill Bray is located 1.5 kilometres from the town of Bray, Co. Wicklow. Bray is a popular seaside town in the County of Wicklow. It is the longest established seaside resort in Ireland with its mile long beachfront promenade and surrounding beautiful Bray Head and Sugarloaf mountains. Only 30 minutes from Ireland’s capital Dublin, the town boasts fine hotels, shops, restaurants, the Mermaid Arts Centre Theatre and evening entertainment.

Located in a tranquil setting in the Herbert Road area of the town, the 93 bedded facility will provide residential care for those over the age of 18 years ranging from minimal support and assistance to total nursing care. In Cairnhill Bray, every bedroom has a ‘room with a view’! The front of the building overlooks Bray Head and the Sugarloaf Mountains, with views of the Dublin Mountains and the River Dargle to the rear.
State of the Art Facility
In 2013 Bray will see the opening of a unique home from home environment, for long term care. Cairnhill Bray is currently being developed to provide Residents with unprecedented levels of care, support and comfort. The nursing home will use state of the art technology to ensure active monitoring and management of the care provided.
The Construction Process
The building contractor for Cairnhill Bray was McAleer & Teague, an ambitious and innovative company experienced in delivering buildings of the highest calibre for the healthcare sector. There were approximately 80 people employed in the construction process, with contractors, design and construction team drawn from the local area. The building was designed to an A3 BER (building energy rating). Innovative systems include:
- Solar hot water panels heating the domestic hot water system
- Rain Water Harvesting System serving the toilets and laundry rooms
- Gas fired micro Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Units providing electrical and thermal energy
- High efficiency gas condensing boilers providing space heating
- Airthermal Heat Pumps providing space heating
- Heat Recovery Ventilation serving all areas
- Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI) for lighting control
- Low energy lighting with PIR control in common areas (with daylight sensing)
